Congratulations to Dr. Yohannes Haile-Selassie

Picture of Dr. Haile-SelassieCongratulations to Dr. Yohannes Haile-Selassie, paleoanthropologist at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Anthropology, who was named by Nature magazine as one of the top people in science in 2019 in recognition of his important work on human evolution. Nature is a leading international science journal. Each year they select 10 people “who had a role in some of the year’s most significant moments in science.”

 

Haile-Selassie published on their latest find in August 2019 (Y. Haile-Selassie et al. Nature 573,214-219;2019). His co-author Dr. Stephanie Melillio (Department of Human Evolution, Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, Leipzig, Germany) received her BA in Anthropology from CWRU in 2005.
