Alpha Kappa Alpha Advancement Foundation Scholarship Applicant must have completed a minimum of one year in a degree granting institution; be continuing a program of education in such an institution; demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, as evidenced by a GPA of 3.0 or higher; and show evidence of leadership by participation in community or campus activities.

American Museum of Natural History A wide variety of grants supporting research in various fields, including anthropology.

American Philosophical Society A variety of research grants available to undergrads, grads, and postgrads.

Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute W. Frank Blair Award Competition for Excellence in Written Data Presentation: $500 award for the best paper pertaining to the natural sciences in the Chihuahuan Desert region. The David and Lucile Packard Foundation works to ensure opportunities for all children to reach their potential, to protect reproductive rights and stabilize world population, to conserve and restore the earth’s natural systems, and to encourage the creative pursuit of science by funding nonprofit groups engaged in such research.
